BNSF Alumni Association

Retirees and former employees of BNSF and its predecessors are a large and far-reaching population. We’re members of communities around the western United States, including many cities that were born because of railroads.

It’s time for us to become a community, to stay in touch and keep each other informed of the railroad’s latest trends and challenges, so we can all be informed participants when our friends, neighbors, community leaders and local news media talk about the railroad.

The BNSF Alumni Association aims to help that happen.

For years, employees of BNSF and its predecessors took care of the 32,500-mile network that BNSF calls home. Now, it’s time to take care of what’s most important – you and your retirements plans.

Nobody has to tell you freight rail is important. You know the central role it plays in the U.S. economy. You know what railroads built by bringing the products people need to live their lives. You helped make it happen.

But everyone doesn’t see it that way. In a time of many competing interests and perspectives, it’s easy for some to lose sight of the importance and the benefits of freight rail and transportation infrastructure in general.

It’s beneficial to everyone when informed citizens join in the national conversation about transportation, because freight rail is crucial in meeting our economy’s needs for energy, housing, food, clothing and consumer goods.
